Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Godot Launcher ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on:

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They can remember preferences, maintain a session, or help measure how a site is used. Similar technologies can also store or access information on a device or send limited measurement requests without setting a cookie.

We use the 68 Publishers Cookie Consent tool through Google Tag Manager to collect and store your choices. The tool communicates your selection to Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity through Google Consent Mode.

Necessary storage is available without consent where it is required to provide the requested service or remember your choice. Analytics storage is disabled unless you consent to it. We do not enable advertising, ad-personalization, security, or personalization storage through the consent banner.

The website and documentation use separate Google Tag Manager containers and may store consent separately for each hostname. A choice made on one site may therefore need to be made again on the other site.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by selecting Cookie Settings in the footer of the site you are visiting. Withdrawing analytics consent prevents further consent-based analytics storage and causes the site to clear the supported first-party analytics cookies listed below.

3. Cookies We May Use

CookieCategoryProviderPurposeTypical lifetime

_gaAnalyticsGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes pseudonymous visitorsUp to 2 years
_ga_*AnalyticsGoogle AnalyticsPersists analytics session state for the site's GA4 propertyUp to 2 years
_clckAnalyticsMicrosoft ClarityPersists a pseudonymous Clarity visitor ID and preferencesUp to 1 year
_clskAnalyticsMicrosoft ClarityConnects page views into a Clarity sessionUp to 1 day

The _ga_* suffix differs between the website and documentation because each site uses its own analytics configuration. Cookie lifetimes are maximum or typical values and may be shortened by browser settings, provider changes, or withdrawal of consent.

Google or Microsoft may use additional cookies on their own domains when their services are contacted. See the current provider documentation for Google Analytics cookies and Microsoft Clarity cookies.

4. Services That Use These Technologies

The consent tool displays the cookie controls, stores your choice in cc-settings, and updates Google Consent Mode. This preference is necessary so we can remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics storage.

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager loads and coordinates the consent and measurement tags used on each site. Tag Manager does not replace the consent tool and does not itself grant permission for analytics storage. The tags it manages receive the consent state selected in the banner.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate usage and measure interactions such as installer downloads and Winget command copies. When analytics storage is denied, Google Analytics cannot read or write analytics cookies. Google Consent Mode may still allow limited cookieless measurement requests that do not contain an Analytics cookie identifier.

See Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data safeguards.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity provides aggregate interaction insights, heatmaps, and session playback. Clarity receives the consent state selected in the banner. When analytics consent is denied, Clarity does not use the analytics cookies listed above and features that require a persistent visitor or session identifier are limited.

See the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Clarity data retention.

Algolia DocSearch

The documentation site uses Algolia DocSearch. Search terms and technical request information are sent to Algolia when you perform a search. We disable Algolia Insights, so the documentation site does not send separate search-result click or conversion events to Algolia. See Algolia's Privacy Policy.

5. Browser Controls

Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies. Blocking all cookies may prevent the site from remembering your consent choice, but the core website and documentation content remain available. Browser controls do not necessarily prevent cookieless requests made under Google Consent Mode.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our sites, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted here with an updated date.
